Helpful Hints, Via YouTube

I've become a YouTube junkie, a late-night surfer of homemade videos from hilarious to helpful, insightful to inane. To me, the site and its millions of videos is vastly superior in terms of entertainment to the majority of that which is offered on terrestrial television. And the sushi-like portions - most of the videos I seek are five minutes or less - allow me to browse, buffet-style, for that which strikes my momentary and particular fancy.

Like many, I began my flirtation with YouTube watching quirky videos discovered by friends and passed to me via e-mail or after dessert at dinner parties - when the men of the party retire to the bedroom office to watch the Power Thirst video our wives are too smart to enjoy. But lately, my interest in YouTube has become largely educational, an extension of a naturally curious mind and desire for constant self-improvement. I've been supplementing my education as a man with how-to videos and can't help but be simultaneously entertained and amazed by the sheer selection of skills available for the absorbing by those willing to type a phrase into the search bar. Naturally, after weeks of perusal, it occurred to me (somewhat obliquely) to share some of these on this forum and to continue to do so on a somewhat regular basis.

So here, without theme or forethought, are some of my favorite how-to YouTube videos. I believe that, while not always supremely practical, they are skills every man should know. I hope you enjoy them and will, like me, look forward to discovering more in the future. If you have a favorite YouTube how-to, e-mail me and I'll try to include it in a future blog.
