DC Urban Dad is a daddy blogger that lives in the city and blogs about urban living, his daughter and his life as a new father.
Transcript: [Matt] This is me, I’m Dad.
[Craig] Right.
[Matt] That is the biggest component of who I am.
[Craig] Exactly.
[Matt] It is not everything of who I am, but it is a very large component and it’s what I am compassionate about being.
[Craig] What’s your take on sort of where fatherhood is going?
[Matt] Um, I think the best part is what Obama said for Father’s Day. And he basically just said, and we never had a President come out and say fatherhood it’s so important and it’s the most important thing.
[Craig] Right.
[Matt] I’ve been a senator, I’ve done this, I’ve been a lawyer, I’m the President of the United States, but that pales in comparison on what it means to be a Dad. And it just means to be present in their lives and do the best you can. We’re not going to be a superhero, we’re not. We’re not.
[Craig] Right.
[Matt] We’re not superheroes, but we have to do the best we can. We might make some mistakes along the way, but the fact that he says it’s okay. I mean when the most powerful man in the world says it’s okay to make mistakes, you know you’re fine.
