Ask a Pregnant Lady: OBGYN Doctor & Baby Delivery

Transcript: If you guys go into labor and it’s in the middle of the night, there is what’s called the on-call doctor. Which, there’s a good chance it won’t be the doctor, the OB, that you have been seeing. And for me I always go to women, because that’s my personal preference. But when I went, and both times, in the middle of the night and the doctor on call was a male. And I thought I would be freaked out by that, but I wasn’t and neither should you. And it’s not a sexual thing. I know it seems bizarre that a man could be all up in there, but when you’re realizing it’s about the baby and not so much about the woman, you know it is, but isn’t, you know, then you’re not as freaked out. I know for my husband, he was like, the thought of a man delivering and seeing me and checking me, it really threw him off. But when it actually happened it was totally fine and normal and we weren’t stressed out about it.
