App of the Week: Dynamic Light

It's amazing what you can do with a smartphone these days. Beyond playing Angry Birds and sending out a few emails, these phones can type for you, remind you that it's your wife's birthday and take beautiful pictures. While the most recent iPhone 4S has an eight-megapixel camera and produces high-quality photos without effort, there are new apps that can transform your photos into works of art.
Okay, "works of art" may be pushing it, but not by much. With the apps I've downloaded, I have taken more "frame-worthy" photos than ever before. My new favorite app is Dynamic Light, which enhances photos by giving you the same HDR look you see photographers using.
I recently took a picture of my family in front of a Christmas tree, and as soon as I turned the dial on the Dynamic Light app, the lights and ornaments became crystal clear and enhanced the background, almost making the image appear whimsical. If you're into taking pictures on your smartphone, take a look at this app. It's $0.99 at the iTunes app store and is worth every penny. People will never believe you took that picture with your phone.
