App of the Week: Words with Friends

App of the Week: Words with Friends

I used to think I had a way with words, an internal thesaurus if you will. That was what I thought, up until I played a game of Words With Friends. I was quickly dominated by my opponent. I was frazzled and couldn't do anything with the letters I was given. I'll admit it, this addictive game owned me.

I lost that game. And quite a few more. But that's what keeps me coming back again and again. This app replicates one of my favorite board games, Scrabble, and although it's nothing new, you will find more and more people are addicted to playing Words With Friends. It's one of the newest time sucks out there, and why not jump on the bandwagon? It's free, and you don't need a smartphone to play. This app is available through Facebook, iTunes app store and the Android market.

As for me, this is one addiction I don't plan on giving up anytime soon. I'll keep playing, hoping to get the right letters—I'm bound to win at some point, right?
