CES 2011: Best New Gear of the Year - Most Useful

One of the biggest technology shows on earth this year, CES 2011, had some disappointments– like no perfect iPhone car stereo. But I did see some awesome TVs, plenty of innovative things and a few things I'm going to be buying eventually. Here are the top things you'll want to know about:

Eton used to be a company known for radios - primarily the hand crank battery powered radios you get for emergencies. I've been a fan (and a consumer) of their products for years, and at CES I found another must have item. The Road Torq is an emergency beacon/flashlight that fits in the glove box of your car. It has a rechargeable battery as well as a hand crank that powers a three LED flashing red light and a one LED flashlight. They told me that two minutes of cranking will result in 15 minutes of flashlight and flashing beacon use. The light is also on a hinge, so you can stand it up on the side of the road, shine the one side on, say a flat tire that you're fixing, while the other side flashes to let oncoming drivers know you're there. It will cost around $30 and will be available in early March of 2011.
