Staying fit as a modern, active dad simply seems impossible at times. When exactly is there some "you" time to care for your body and mind?

Well, with a little creative time management and the use of some household props, you can regain that 20-something body that you once took for granted. Trimming down while pumping up is now about efficiency and good decisions, and some family integration along the way.

So, if you're longing for some time to make your body a little more toned and your mind a little less stressed, you first have to make it a priority. Once you have determined exactly when the workout should be — right after you get home from work, after the kids finish their homework, or whenever — drop yourself into the world of old-school fitness: no fancy machines or workout videos, just good, hardcore exercises. There is a reason they have been around for years — they work.

But to add some variety and to make your precious time all the more valuable, bring the kids in and ask for their help. Not only will this be some great quality time with your family, but also it will get them excited about fitness, they'll learn good habits and you might just have a ton of fun.
