The convenience of having fitness apps on your smartphone is hard to beat. However, these apps for athletes are about more than just accessibility. They include all the important features you need to maximize the results you get from your fitness regime. Here are ten of the best.
Nike+ GPS (iPhone) - The Nike+ app has been a perennial favorite for iPhone users for some time now. It has a built-in GPS module that maps your runs and records your pace. You hear motivational messages from some of Nike's top athletes and can easily share your times with Facebook, Twitter or Nikeplus.com.
