There's something about the feeling you get when the sun hits your face and when sand touches your toes for the first time. You can't replicate the feeling, but this magazine brings a touch of it to every article.

Garden and Gun magazine embodies the "soul of the south" with each issue that goes into print. From the best of southern cuisine to art and music, this magazine covers the best that the south has to offer. While there is nothing better than to hold this publication in your hands and look at the beautiful photography, their online presence is pretty well known too.

I was first drawn to the website after coming across one of their "Good Eats" articles, featuring "The Perfect Tailgate Cocktail." We all know how the south takes football seriously, well, who doesn't? So this article was full of great ideas and some pretty tasty recipes. Another favorite would have to be their roundup of the top five Po'Boys in New Orleans.

So if you need something to warm you up during these colder fall/winter months, I'd suggest taking a look at gardenandgun.com. You will certainly get some great ideas on how to bring a touch of the south into your life.

Ray L. If it embodies the "soul of the south," then why are there hardly any black folks within its pages? If they are featured, they are usually cooking grits or picking a banjo. The magazine strives hard to celebrate the plantation mentality. - 01/30/2012
