Required Reading: Jockpost

Those of us who suffer from an insatiable hunger for sports information spend a lot of time surfing online hoping to find a new source of facts and entertainment. One of our favorite destinations at Man of the House is Grantland. Another is Joe Posnanski's blog. We've covered those in earlier "Required Reading" posts.
Another we've discovered and have spent way too much time on is JOCKpost. It's not that they've got special access to information you won't find elsewhere. It's that they're funny. They take a wry look at the daily bumps and grinds of professional and college sports from a typical fan's perspective.
They take their reporting seriously, but they don't present it with the serious—and often self-inflating—approach you'll find at more traditional media outlets. Nor are they hellbent on snarky one-manship that seems more prevalent these days with the success of sites like Deadspin. Instead, you find a blend of passion for sports nestled in a humorous, it's-only-a-game attitude. They gather humorous video—such as a guy whose marriage proposal was turned down on the big screen at a recent UCLA basketball game—photos and smart, funny text to create an oasis for fans who both love The Game and take it all in stride.
