It was a race I lost every year. The epic quest to reach every house on the block for candy was forfeited every Halloween, all because of one house. One house that decided to scare the living crap out of children in their polyester costumes and painted faces. I attempted a visit every year, but their open coffin and gleaming chain saw chased me away, leaving fragments of Reese Cups and Starburst all over their shrubbery.
