4 Tips for Getting Out of the Office

Guys insist on working while on vacation, because, well, we're busy. The office won't stop just because you've stepped away. In fact, it usually gets busier.

So, unfortunately, you may be forced to spend some time working during a vacation. That doesn't mean that you can't stay in control, and it certainly doesn't mean that you have to miss your hard-earned relaxation time. Here are some tips to help you keep your vacation work-free.

1.  Make sure to cover your responsibilities before you leave the office. This is a logical first step, isn't it? It'll require some patience and some careful planning to take care of all of your duties.

In some offices, co-workers act like low-functioning robots: If they're not told what to do, they don't do anything. If this sounds like something that you deal with on a daily basis, leave lists of extra duties for them to complete while you're out of town. Make sure that your phone calls are being handled. Make sure that everyone knows what to do in the event of a work crisis. You'll be doing more work to plan all of this out, but at least you'll be worry-free during your time away.
